Nimble & Free isn’t just our name- it’s how we work, and how we travel.
Nimble & Free is a two-person creative studio built on a shared love of storytelling, visual creativity and ethical travel.
Founded by Nicola Bailey (they/she and Gen X) and Federica Vona (she/her and Milennial), we’re based between Sydney and New York City - but rarely still for long. We create content for the travel industry, from social media reels to brand imagery and editorial features, with an eye for meaningful moments and a spirit of exploration.
We’re drawn to adventure and places beyond the beaten path—travel that’s mindful, not mass. We also care deeply about inclusive travel and creating with respect for people, culture, and the planet. Between us, we speak English, Spanish, Italian, French, and Auslan (Australian Sign Language), and we bring that global lens to every story we tell.
Nicola brings fifteen years of experience as an award winning photographer and creative working with travel brands and media outlets, including in an ongoing role as the Photo Editor for Adventure.com.
She loves to share her knowledge through workshops and photography tours, and when she’s not traveling, enjoys digging around in her garden.
Federica is a multilingual creative and lifelong traveller who moved to Australia from Italy on a whim, and hasn’t stopped exploring since. She has a keen instinct for capturing engaging, relatable content for social platforms and is also a whizz with editing and design.
When she’s not on the move, she loves creating and sewing costumes, as well as drawing or playing with clay.
